Three Days of Accomplishment

Gotta love a three day weekend with nothing planned every once in a while. Aside from fighting a cold (which is what kept me home in the first place), it was really quite enjoyable. I definitely got lots of time to knit and scrap.

PageMaps / Webster's Pages Sketch Contest

I always enjoy scrapping with PagMaps sketches. This is the latest sketch contest on their blog:

The Great Outdoors

It's getting challenging, scrapping hiking layouts. There's only so many directions you can go with browns and greens. And I usually have multiple photos I want to include. For this layout, I rummaged around my stash and uncovered some "hiking" themed embellishments I had picked up in Lake Placid, and some tree chipboard pieces I've had for who knows how long.

Pruned Topiary

Topiary, by Michele Wang, is a gorgeous pattern. The only modification I made to the medium wrap was to do 15 instead of 16 repeats, which is good, because once blocked my wrap jumped from just over six feet to eight feet long!

I used the Madeline Tosh Vintage in Oxblood that Glenn got me for Christmas and I couldn't be happier with the result.

Thalia Cafe

Well, so far I'm on pace to beat January. Already one layout done this month.

While Glenn's mother Becky was visiting, he had a gig at Thalia Cafe at Symphony Space. It was a lovley afternoon all around. And the timing of the layout is perfect. He has another gig lined up at Thalia Cafe for February 21st at 7 p.m., so if you're in town, come on out.

Come On Irene

This is the grand total of my scrabooking in January 2012. Yep. One layout. I'm going to go ahead and say that this wraps up August photos and move on to September. I am hoping that I'll be able to finish the wedding crafting this month and put some time into layouts.
