Iceland (Grindavik and the Blue Lagoon)

As much as I wanted to begin exploring immediately, I knew that the red-eye flight we were taking into Iceland would wear us down. To be honest, I was already worn down from a long winter and a hectic work schedule.  Keeping this in mind, our plans for our first day in Iceland were pretty low key.   After picking up our rental car at the airport, we drove to the fishing village Grindavík to check out the coast. Confronted by a cold rain, we didn't spend too much time on the coast, but what we saw was stunning.

We then headed to the Blue Lagoon.  We soaked, rested, then had an hour-long massage floating in the water with the rain falling gently on our faces.   Now we're back at the hotel, resting before heading back for dinner at Lava.

Did I mention it's cold and rainy? Well, it is spring in Iceland.
