Falling Waters Preserve

Every October I make the trip north to Rhinebeck for the New York Sheep and Wool Festival. It's the perfect time of year to venture upstate, since it is usually peak fall color.  I expanded my trip this year, taking some time early in the morning before the festival to do some hiking along the Hudson River.  The Scenic Hudson website provides a list of beautiful parks along the river, many of which have trails for short hikes.

The Falling Waters Preserve is in Glasco, New York (near Saugerties) and has two miles of trails. Not a strenuous hike by any means, but definitely an enjoyable walk, and a beautiful place to go and watch the sun rise.
