I loved that the June 2015 Hip Kit Club kit had some travel themed elements in it, including a map paper from Pink Paisee and some travel themed wood veneer from Evalicious. Perfect for summer vacation photos.

iNSD (revisited)

Beautiful Montmartre

I had so much fun hanging out online with the Get It Scrapped community on Saturday, during one of the Get It Scrapped online crops.  (If you're interested, they're usually posted in the forums, which are open to everyone).  During the afternoon I created a small kit from scraps and open packages of embellishments in response to Jill Sprott's stash busting challenge. She posted it on her blog here.  It's great to use some old favorites that are now gathering dust.

Supplies: Paper: Teresa Collins (Moments & Memories), Webster's Pages (Nest); Alphas: October Afternoon (Mini Market); Die Cuts and Stickers: Maggie Holmes (Open Book); Flair: Finding Nana; Brads: Making Memories; Stencil: Tim Holtz; Other: Dr. PhMartin's India Ink, modeling paste

Art Journal Sunday (Off the Page)

I moved off the page this week onto a basswood canvas that I had leftover from another project.

I twisted up some leftover cloth and thick twine to create a tree, which I adhered with copious quanities of gel medium. After It was all dry, I played with acrylic paint to create my scene. The final tough was a Tim Holtz metal bird.  There's quite a lot of dimension on this piece, so it's probably good that it's not inside my journal.

Cherry Bomb

Finished another sweater - just in time for summer. This is based on the Flare pattern by Veera Välimäki, which I knit using Madelinetosh Pashmina in Tart and Fathom.

I really like this A-line design, but I need to remember not to knit top-down sweaters out of hand-dyed yarn. I'm just not that good at carrying it.  There's a somewhat noticeable line down the back.

Giverny

I've already shared how much I loved Monet's home and garden in Giverny, France. With so many gorgeous photos to scrap, I'm delighted that Debbie Hodge is running a series on two-page layouts at Get It Scrapped.   This layout was based on Lesson 4 of the current Scrapbook Coach - Double Wide.

Ice Cream

I've really been enjoying the Hip Kit Club's June 2015 kits. I scrapped my first Paris photos. Notice that my first Paris layouts are of ice cream, and not the Eiffel Tower or Notre Dame? I've got my priorities!

Supplies: Hip Kit Club June 2015 (Paper: Fancy Pants (Summer Sun); Die Cuts and Embellishments: Crate (Poolside); Sequins: Crate (Maggie Holmes); Wood Veneer: Evalicious); Stamps: Hero Arts (Box of Dots); Ink: Tim Holtz Distress Ink (chipped sapphire, picked raspberry); Studio Calico (mint hint, orange county, blush crush)

Hello everyone. I've been playing with some paint and my Unity Stamp Company stamps. A little added interest with an Amy Tangerine stencil and modeling paste. Super simple.

Stamped on upside down by accident. Oops.

Oh So Lovely

Another layout featuring a mixed media background (this one is captured on the accompanying process video). This time I played with Gelatos over white cardstock to create a marbled pink background, over which I layered my photo mat and  black floral die cuts.  A sprinkling of sequins and small embellishments finish the layout.

Supplies: Paper: Webster's Pages (Alison Kreft Happy, Dream in Color), Pink Paislee (Citrus Bliss); Chipboard and Sequins: Crate Paper (Maggie Holmes); Stickers: Amy Tangerine (Remarks); Stamp: Technique Tuesday; Ink: Tim Holtz Distress Ink (black soot); Spray Ink: Lindy's Stamp Gang Glitz Spritz (blazing sun); Die Cuts: Wilna Furstenburg; Gelatos
