White Memorial Conservation Center

I traveled up to Connecticut yesterday to spend a beautiful spring afternoon outdoors.  I discovered the White Memorial Conservation Center near Litchfield, Connecticut.  4,000 acres of forests, fields, and wetlands and more than 40 miles of trails in northwestern Connecticut.  I only explored a small section, taking the 3-plus mile loop around the (not-so) Little Pond.  This is an easy walk along flat paths and a boardwalk that circles the pond.

In addition to the spring buds creating a lovely backdrop, there were birds everywhere.

And a frog.

As the day wore on, the light became even more beautiful.

Of course, I took lots of photos, all of which can be found here.
