Letchworth State Park

Hello, everyone.

I really love living in New York. It's an amazingly diverse state. This weekend, we traveled more than three hundred miles westward to camp along the Genesee River in Letchworth State Park.  It's a beautiful campground (great facilities for families), with sixty-six miles of hiking trails and three gorgeous waterfalls.

Our first morning, my best friend and I spent hiking around the lower falls.

In the evening, my husband joined us as we explored the middle and upper falls.

Most of the weekend was spent enjoying our campfire.   I did get out for a short hike along the Kisil Point trail. This trail runs from the campgrounds to a point where the Genesee River gorge and a gorge created by the Silver Lake Outlet meet.  It runs through the woods along the gorges. Views, however, were generally blocked by trees.

Then it was back to the campfire.
