Sparkle

Hello, everyone!

No process video or sketch today. I tried, but there were technical difficulties beyond my abilities to figure out. Even so, I do want to share this layout with you. It's a basic grid design, but I had fun creating the background with a snowflake stencil and two shades of Tim Holtz Distress ink, and a little bit of pearlescent spray ink to give it a bit of shine.

Supplies: Paper: Pinkfresh Studio (Christmas Wishes); Glitter Word Art: Pebbles (Home + Made); Sequins: Studio Calico; Stencils: TCW, Ink: Tim Holtz Distress Ink (tumbled glass, evergreen bough); Spray Ink: Lindy's Stamp Gang Glitz Sprits (pearlescents) Other: washi tape, embroidery floss, tags

A Man and His Cats

Hello, everyone!

I am loving the fact that Glitter Girl is back and Shimelle is blogging again. A few weeks ago, she challenged her audience to do a layout with hearts. Not a problem for me. Hearts are one of my favorite motifs.

Supplies: Paper, Frames Die Cuts and Stickers: Simple Stories (I Am); Enamel Dots: Simple Stories (So Rad)

Giving Thanks

Hello, everyone!

Sometimes its really hard to get started.  The last few weeks I've had lots of things I've wanted to do, but no mojo. Rather than reinvent the wheel, I decided to scrap lift myself.  And I didn't spend a lot of time flipping back through albums from five years ago. I grabbed the last layout I finished and lifted it.  I even grabbed some of the same die cuts.

Supplies: Paper: Crate Paper, Authentique; Die Cuts: Wilna Furstenburg, Ellison; Ink: Tim Hotlz Distress Ink (wild honey, ground espresso); Stamp: Technique Tuesday (journaling lines); Paint: Liquitex (gold); Buttons: JoAnn Craft Essentials; twine; tissue paper

Comparing the two layouts side-by-side, you can see the design similarities, but each layout is still unique.

Falling Leaves

Hello, everyone!

Back with a simple fall layout. I know. I'm a season behind. But I didn't want to save these photos until next year.

I love to explore, and what better time than fall in the northeast.  These photos were taken at the New Jersey Botanical Garden in Ringwood, New Jersey during peak fall color. I stuck with the color scheme from the photos in choosing my papers. The white background makes the colors glow with the same intensity that the scenery did that day. And the Wilna Furstenburg die cuts add a lovely, whimsical feel.

Supplies: Paper: Authentique (Spectrum II), miscellaneous cardstock; Die Cuts: Wilna Furstenburg; Alphas and Wood Veneer: Teresa Collins (9 & Co.); Ink: Tim Holtz Distress Ink (wild honey, ground espresso), Mister Huey's (gold); Paint: Liquitex (gold); Enamel Dots: Doodlebug Sprinkles

Quick Knit

Hello, everyone!

After spending hours and hours on my last sweater, I decided it was time for a quick knit. I dug through my stash and found a few hundred yards of Malabrigo Yarn Silky Merino in Redwood. I chose to knit Heidi Kirrmaier's Circumnavigate and in a week I had a cowl.

I knit at a looser gauge than the pattern called for, so my finished object is a bit longer. I can wrap it around my neck twice without it being too tight.
