Quite Contrary

Hello, everyone.

It's been a slow knitting year, but there have been a few finished projects. I set aside my most recent (everlasting) sweater project for a much quicker knit, making this beautiful shawl for my mother for Christmas.  The pattern is Heaven and Space by Martina Behm. I knit it using Plucky Knitter Prima Sport in the Contessa color way.

Roadtrip Woes

Hello, everyone!

I've begun scrapping our trip to Scotland. One of the more memorable moments from the first day was not the happiest, but definitely part of the adventure - a flat tire while driving through Glencoe.  Really, learning to drive on the "wrong side" was a bit of a trial, and poor Glenn, I was a horrible passenger.

From a scrapping perspective, one exciting thing about scrapbooking our trip is that I finally have a chance to use all the deer embellishments that I have been accumulating.

Supplies - Paper: Fancy Pants Designs (Golden Days, Life if Beautiful); Alphas: American Crafts Thickers (Twilight); Stamps: Studio Calico (deer), Shimelle ("seriously"); Inlk: Tim Holtz Distress Ink (faded jeans); Dies: Spellbinders (label), Lawn Fawn (circle), Little B (arrow), Shimelle (banner); Flair: Paper: Fancy Pants Designs (Golden Days); Labels: Simple Stories (Hello Fall)

A Wedding Layout

Hello, everyone.

Who doesn't love a wedding! For me, the best part is seeing the smiles on the bride's and groom's faces during and after the ceremony.  The love and joy just radiates and we all get a chance to share in it.  There's so much going on at a wedding that we want to remember: who was there, what everyone wore, what we got to eat and drink. But the most valuable memory, and the most intangible, is the shared experience - being together, being in love, being happy.

Supplies - Paper, Alphas, and Embellishments: Simple Stories (Posth); Doily: Recollections.

A Bridal Shower Layout

Hello, everyone.

I love looking back at photographs of good times spent with friends. I makes me want to throw a party!

Supplies: Simple Stories (Posh)

I have been keeping things fairly simple. For this layout, I decided to play a bit with inks, stencils and modeling paste. It's been too long and I wasn't satisfied with the result. Rather than simply throwing it away, however, I cut it and used a piece for my photo mat.
