Farmer's Bounty

It has been a cold, rainy spring, but warmed up a lot over the last week. When we drove upstate for Memorial Day weekend, everything was green and lush. It was too early for most crops, but the Saratoga Spring's Farmers Market was well stocked with fresh greens, herbs, root vegetables, meats, local cheeses, preserves, and baked goods. The next stop was my sister's cabin. Her mountain garden was up and growing. We took a brief side trip to Salem, New York to visit the Battenkill Creamery, recently voted New York's best dairy. Then back to the cabin to grill out and enjoy an evening around the fire,
