Eleanor's Eagle

I like to knit a smaller piece in between sweaters, to keep things interesting and to use up some of the odds and ends in my stash. One of the those random skeins was a beautiful skein of chocolate alpaca my sister had given me when I first started knitting two and a half years ago. At the time, I had no clue what to do with 250 yards of sport weight yarn. Since then, I found a lovely pattern for a lace cowl. The Eleanor Cowl is available here at Knitty.
The dark color and fuzziness of the alpca hides the lace pattern somewhat. The benefit of this is that it also hides my mistakes. This is the first project I've done that was fully charted, and every pattern repeat required concentration.
