Zion/Bryce/Mt. Messiaen Loop (from sunrise to sunset)

We left at dawn, driving through Zion on the way to Bryce Canyon. We stopped along the way to take in the amazing beauty.

To get to Bryce Canyon, you have to drive past (and through) some amazing red rocks:

As we drove to Bryce, gaining elevation, the snow started to mount.  Bryce was knee deep, so we stuck to the rim trail. Incredibly beautiful, but I really wish I had brought my snow shoes!   Someday I'll get below the rim.

Wee little man.
After Bryce, we headed north through Dixie National Forest to Mount Messiaen. We found the mountain, but could not find the plaque dedicating the pinnacles to Glenn's favorite composer. The trail was probably hidden under the snow. (Another reason to come back in the summer).

The sun was setting as we approached Zion,  and the red rocks were glowing again.
