Hello, Cupcake

Hello, Everyone! and best wishes for a wonderful new year.

It's been awhile since I've been able to scrapbook, but I found using an old sketch I was able to put together a page from a fall outing to the New York Sheep and Wool Festival fairly quickly.

Supplies: Paper: Pebbles (DIY Home), Authentique (Spectrum II), American Crafts (gold glitter); Alphas: October Afternoon (Daily Flash); Frame, Wood Veneer: Crate Paper; Journaling Cards: Pebbles (DIY Home); Ink: Tim Holtz Distress Ink (ground espresso, tattered rose); Dies: The Cut Shoppe , Tim Holtz (tag); Twine: Lawn Fawn

For this layout I've gone back to Sketch No. 7 (a collection of my first 50 sketches can be found here).  While the sketch was originally designed for a scattering of smaller embellishments, I discovered that it also works well using larger elements.

  1. This layout "feels" right for the content. The casual setting is well-suited to the woodgrain background. The warm colors emphasize the deep friendships. The circular layout can indicate 'a circle of friends' but also work well for recurring events like this annual festival. Impressive layout!
