Grand Dutchess

Hello, everyone!

Working at Get it Scrapped, I'm constantly being reminded to pay attention to basic design rules. This week, the creative team was asked to do layouts that focus on alignment - placing elements on a page in relationship to other elements on the page.

For more great layouts featuring alignment, check out this article.

In this layout, I created a strong vertical line on the right third of the page. I aligned my photos along this line. I added interest by using photographs of different size and orientation.  I then aligned the title to the bottom edge of the one landscape photograph, creating a horizontal line on the page as well.

Supplies: Paper: Pink Paislee (365 Degrees), Carta Bella (Moments & Memories), Authentique (Spectrum II), Bo Bunny (Star Crossed); Alphas: Bo Bunny (Star Crossed), October Afternoon (Daily Flash); Stencil: Tim Holtz; Ink: Tim Holtz (ground espresso); Flair: A Flair for Buttons

  1. A truly 'fine' layout. You've also created depth by you color choice and the effects of layering. And a lot of visual interest by the textures.
